The Central Jamaica Conference (CJC) family is mourning the death of a beloved and hard-working food-service provider, Marjorie Williams-Panton, 53, affectionately known as ‘Sadie.’

Mrs. Williams-Panton died at the Andrews Memorial Hospital on Sabbath morning, April 13, 2019, at approximately 9:45 am. She died only eight days after she fell ill due to a stroke while doing what she does best—helping to prepare meals for the attendees to the CJC Stewardship Summit at Camp Verley last weekend, April 4-6, 2019.
The news of her death came as a shock to the administrators, directors, staff, pastors, teachers and other workers of CJC, where she served as a faithful part-time contract worker for close to 9 years. She was also a member of the Portmore Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She died, leaving her husband, Lewis Panton and adult son Sheldon Lyon, a past student of Willowdene Group of Schools.
“We are deeply saddened by Sadie’s passing,” said Conference President Levi Johnson, “and we extend our deepest sympathies to her grieving family, church members and loved ones.”
“Sadie served with love and compassion,” he continued, “always cheerful and kind. She will be sadly missed. She gave her all to the culinary department of the conference.”
