“Love was in the air” during a romantic; yet solemn Marriage Recommitment Service, where 51 couples recommitted their wedding vows to each other.

The service was the closing exercise to a Marriage Enrichment Retreat by the Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort, Montego Bay on the weekend of May 31 to June 2, 2019, under the theme, “Enriching your Marriage: Gather the Jewels.”

Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Martinborough, International Family Life Educators and Guest Speakers for the Marriage Enrichment Retreat conducted the Marriage Recommitment Service.
“Since you made your vows to each other, you have had many challenges, and many blessings also,” said Dr. Martinborough. Dr. Martinborough used the story of Jacob found in Genesis 35, who renewed his vows to God at Bethel after a 20-year pilgrimage in Mesopotamia, to illustrate the couples’ renewing of their vows to God and each other.
